Northfield is not Chicago, but you can still vote twice for the people’s favorite candidate, Eduardo!. With the primary only a couple of weeks away, we need to be getting out the word that Eduardo will be the mayor to represent and protect all the people. Eduardo has a unique message: that a government that pays attention to the details so that the citizen’s get the best decisions is the government the people deserve. Our task is to get that message out in an election that seems to be settled in on messages of rah rah and not substance. Although we hope the direction will change after the primary, we need to make certain Eduardo is the candidate who can make those arguments AFTER the primary, which means we need to be creating buzz. Buzz on Locally Grown Northfield. Buzz at the Northfield News. Buzz at the coffee shops.
I, myself, am not comfortable creating buzz. I, like Eduardo, prefer to let our ideas lead people to a better future. But elections are not just about ideas. They are about buzz, and we need to really start generating that buzz.
In addition to the primary team, I am copying all of my friends (there’s three more votes). We need to start the buzz saw to make this happen.
Thanks for your support and attention to this urgent call for individual action!
Bruce W. Morlan

Eduardo presented very well at the inaugural Politics and a Pint candidate forum. He got out his message on process, personalities and problems in the public sphere. The Wolle group is charing forward and we continue to work on getting the message a wide presentation.

Northfield (July 15, 2008): Eduardo Wolle (Wally), a twenty year resident of Northfield, filed today for the office of Mayor of Northfield. Wolle said his reason for running for Mayor was to bring order and direction back to city government. “I believe that my background in government and in conflict resolution will help us bring about positive change with direction and purpose to Northfield,” he said. “Conflict can be good if it leads to positive action,” he continued. “When it leads to non-civil discourse it hurts the public and those entrenched in the conflict. It also affects our City’s reputation beyond our borders.”
Wolle serves as the Executive Director of Gilbert Mediation Center and the Executive Director of Rice County Dispute Resolution Program.
Wolle has experience working in government and boards. He served 10 years on the Northfield School Board where he served as the Board’s Parliamentarian. He is currently the Chair of the Minnesota Supreme Court’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Ethics Board serving as its first non-attorney Chair.
Wolle was a member and Chair of the Rice County Planning Commission. He also served as the lobbyist for the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry and as a mediator/arbitrator for the State in the area of Workers’ Compensation. Wolle has served on a number of Boards and Commissions including Woman Safe, Casa de Esperanza, COMPAS (arts organization), Northfield Human Rights Commission, Governor’s Commission on Postsecondary Education and most recently as an advisor to the Minnesota Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He also served as an Assistant Dean at Carleton College.
Wolle and his wife Stephanie have two children Lolita and Carlos. Lolita is a junior at University of Wisconsin Milwaukee majoring in business and Spanish and Carlos is a senior at Northfield High School.
Wolle holds a Masters in Higher Education Administration from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History from Johnson State College in Vermont.
